The 7th match of the CLT20 2014 will be played between Kolkata Knightriders and Lahore Lions. The Indian fans will surely get a taste of Indo-Pak clash in this match. here is the preview of the match between Kolkata Knightriders and Lahore Lions.
Kolkata Knight Riders have won the Toss and Elected to field first.
The match will be played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium at 8pm (IST) in Hyderabad. The pitch will assist the spinners a bit and dew is not going to play a part in this.
Kolkata Knightriders: They have a very decent batting line up , which just goes on to make the bowling line up look secondary. Robin Uthappa has not recovered fully and this means that Manvinder Bisla will continue to keep wickets and bat at he top with Gambhir. Gambhir has looked a bit scratchy but he can find form any time , like how he did it in the IPL 7. Manish Pandey . along with Yusuf Pathan , Ryan Toen doeschate and Andre Russel forms , what is arguably the best middle order after Kings X11. Their bowling is spearheaded by the mystery man Sunil Narine and Piyush Chawla is supporting him well. The fast bowling unit just needs to contribute a bit more to the cause , which is lacking it’s spearhead Morne Morkel , who is out injured . Andre Russel did win the game for KKR last time around but KKR might feel the need of 5th bowler. Yusuf did well in the first match and if he can manage the role , it will help KKR to keep an extra batsman in the 11.
Lahore Lions: They managed to outplay Mumbai Indians and qualify for the first round of the Champions League and the journey will be a bit tough here. Their batting unit is vey unpredictable and their bowling holds the key. The top 4 in the batting unit can change the game on their own but apart from hafeez , no one has played a big one. Ahmed Shehzad is throwing away his wicket after a good start.
Umar Akmal has to improve his glove work . Aizaz Cheema, Wahab Riaz will lead the pace attacka nd it will be interesting to see on how KKR deals with Adnan Rasool, another mystery spinner in Pakistan. He can turn the match on his own. With so murderers of spin bowling in KKR lineup, this will be the contest to watch out for in the whole match.
KKR looks a better side on paper and has 65-35 percent of winning chances in their favour.
