From considering as one of the favorites after some brilliant all round performances, Northern Knights have faded it away as they record another big loss against Kings XI Punjab. With this win, Punjab has ensured their spot in semis after KKR in the other group doing the same.

After winning the toss, Knights like any other team chosed to bowl. Making the Knights’ decision thinkable, Punjab was off to a qlitering start courtesy of Vohra’s quick fire fifty and Sehwag’s sheer achor role even which possed strike rate over 140. Vohra completed his fifty in 29 balls and shared a stand of 102 in 51 balls with Sehwag before getting out to Sodhi for 65 off 32 after he tried to smash third six in the over after he did two in row. Sehwag completed his fifty in 35 balls but he Maxwell and Perera fell in a quick span as Punjab downgraded to 151 for 4 in 15 overs from 120 for 1 in 10 overs. But a quick fire innings from Miller who scored a 18-ball 40 runs as KXIP ended on 215 for 5 in their 20 overs.

Despite of lossing Harris quite early in a huge chase, Knights were of to good start with help of Williamson and Devcich. They kept the rate on a flow as they managed to score past 50 in just 5 overs. They both shared 48 runs in 4.1 overs before Williamson departed as well as the team’s collapse began. Soon after the wicket of Kane, crucial batsmen like Devcich, Flynn and Stryris departed as Knights were struggling at 81 for 5 in 10 overs. However, Punjab didn’t needed to trouble them till the end as the Knight’s batsmen were as like in a hurry to finish the game as they were bundled out for 95, lossing the game to CLT20 record of 120 runs.

Kings XI Punjab: 215 for 5 in 20.0 overs (M Vohra 65, V Sehwag 52; IS Sodhi 2/37, SC Kuggeleijn 2/34) beat Northern Knights: 95 all out in 15.2 overs (AP Devcich 28, K WIlliamson 20; K Singh 4/15, A Patel 2/16) by 120 runss
