The Defending Champions Mumbai Indians start on a lossing course in the Qualifiers as the Lahore Lions beat the IPL team by 6 wickets in a comfortable encounter what looked like a nail bitter.

After winning the toss, Lions put MI to bat and the weak batting line up MI were on course of lossing wickets with the runs weren’t coming quite easily. They were 23 for 3 with Simmons, Saxena, Rayudu back in hut. But Hussey & Tare tried to set up things putting on 44 before Mussey departed for 28. Despite of lossing wickets, Tare kept continuing and scored a run a ball 37. Some late strikes from Praveen Kumar and Harbhajan Singh ensure them to end up at 135 for 7.

Chasing a mere 136, Lions got to a decent start after some tight overs up front. The opening pair put on 51 but the spin duo Harbhajan & Ojha resuced the MI team as required rate was touching 10. But 16th, 17th and 18th overs bowled by Pollard, Harbhajan & Malinga produced 13, 10 and 15 respectively which let the Mumbai Indians down from the game same Umar Akmal needed another 4 balls of the 19th over to end up the task.

Lahore Lions: 139 for 4 in 18.4 overs (Umar Akmal 38*, Ahmed Shehzad 34; P Ojha 2/18, KA Pollard 1/13) beat Mumbai Indians: 135 for 7 in 20.0 overs (AP Tare 37, MEK Hussey 28; A Cheema 2/22, W Riaz 2/31) by 6 wickets
