In the opener of the main tournament of the Champions league T20, IPL champions KKR beat CSK by 3 wickets what looked like a huge defeat but a amazing turn around by Russell and Doeschate took the game away from the Super Kings.

Captain Gambhir brought spinners around and attacked which it worked out for them as Chennai were 86 for 4 in 13th over. But a steady stand between MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo help them to put a respectable score. Bravo failed to score in last two overs but Dhoni ended in a fashion by smashing one of Umesh over long on which read 101 Meters on distance.

Chasing 158 to win, KKR never looked like to be chase. Nehra excellent spell destroyed their batting order as KKR were 21 for 4. Surya and Ten Doeschate tried to built a stand but Yadav fell in this process as they lost their half side for 51. But Andre Russell smashed from the moment he came to bowl as CSK couldn’t do anything special except to watch him taking the game away. He marched to a 22 ball 50 and put on a stand of 80 off 51 balls before Nehra cleaned up Russell for 58. KKR got 24 runs in next 14 balls with Ryan got going but Cummins was run out by a terrific throw from Jadeja when 3 runs needed from 7 balls. But Chawla cooly played the first he faced through covers to seal the match with an over to go.
