Match number 5 of this year’s CLT20 is between Kings X11 Punjab and Barbados Tridents. Here is the preview of the match between Kings X11 Punjab and Barbados Tridents.

The match will start at 8pm (IST) at PCA Stadium Mohali, with the stadium being the home ground of the Kings X11 Punjab in the IPL. The pitchoffered some help to the pacers but it was a good overall performance by the Kings X11 in their first match against Chennai Super Kings

Kings X11: Their main strength is their powerful batting lineup , with everyone a potential match winner on their day. Right from the top, Sehwag, Vohra, Miller , Maxwell , Bailey, Perera and not to forget Wriddhiman Saha. Also, they have some decent lower order batsman too. No matter how many wickets they lose upfront, everyone plays their natural game . Bailey looks to be the only stabiliser in the batting lineup. The absence of Johnson means that Perera will be a regular part of the line up and this makes the batting lineup more fierce.

The pace department will be in the hands of the Indians with a lot of options available to them. Anureet Singh was excellent with the ball , but will be noteworthy to see of how long Balaji and Rishi Dhawan warms the bench. Akshar Patel continued his good form for Kings X11 and Karanveer Singh will have to be more economical. He is an attacking option but is going  for a lot too much.

Barbados Trident: Captained by Rayad Emrit, this is a team to watch out for. They have got a good mix of players who are specialists of the format.  Neil McKenzie will hold the top order together and will be supported by James Franklin, Jeevan Mendis and will be supported by wicket keeper batsman William Perkins. Emrit can also use the long handle to good effect.

Bowling seems to be their main strength with Ravi Rampaul and Jason Holder leading the attack. both are good upfront with the new ball and can bowl good yorkers at the later stage of the innings. Rayad Emrit mixes it well in the middle overs. Jeevan Mendis and James Franklin may play the 5th bowlers role.

With all the considerations made, it should be 70-30 affair in favour of the Kings X11 Punjab . With the kind of batting they have, it may turn out  to be a run feast in an innings.
