It will be the second last match of the group stage between the Southern Express and the Lahore Lions at Raipur. The match will be of utmost importance to Lahore Lions as this game is a must win for them to stay in the competition. On the other hand, Southern Express do have some flickering chances to qualify but most importantly they have to win the match tomorrow to keep their chances alive.
Lahore Lions started their campaign beautifully with a win against the Mumbai Indians. They came well as a unit and their bowling unit clicked wonderfully in the match but in their second match, they did not manage to produce much as they were quite comprehensively beaten by the Northern Knights. The Lahore Lions were bundled for a score of 98 runs. They seem to be too much dependant on their opening pair especially on Ahmed Shehzad. If this man gets going, then they do possess good chance of winning the game. On their bowling department, Aizaz Cheema will play a vital role for the next match and also Mohammed Hafeez who has to clinch wickets. He has been economical in his bowling but at the same time he has to clinch wickets for his team.
The Southern Express are comparatively a weaker side on paper. They did not click well in both their matches and they thus they are in much pressure. Their bowling line up seemed more than ordinary in the match against Mumbai Indians. All their spinners including Dilruwan Perera bowled predictable deliveries and also their length were pretty much on predictable side. The cameo of Farveez Maharoof helped them to reach to a brilliant total in the match against Mumbai Indians but Maharoof disappointed with his bowling performances. Also, their skipper Jehan Mubarak did not manage his troops well in both the matches. So they also have to come up well strategically.
