In the current times Pakistan has done well in test matches beating Bangladesh 1-0, beating Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka 2-1. The bowling of the team has good variety with good quality fast bowlers like Imran Khan, Rahat Ali, Junaid Khan, Wahab Riaz and the top quality spinner Yasir Shah who took 24 wickets in the series against Sri Lanka. The batting order depends upon Younis Khan, Misbah Ul Haq and other youngsters like Sarfaraz Ahmed, Asad Shafiq have performed well with bat. The main problem for the Pakistan team has been the consistency. Younis Khan played a great innings of 171 chasing 372 in the 4th innings of the 3rd test.
India’s main problem in test matches has been their bowling. They lack the bowlers to pick 20 wickets in a test match which has lead to defeats in overseas conditions. The batting looks solid with the likes of Vijay, Dhawan, Kohli, Rahane and Rohit. The Indian team needs bowlers who can pick 20 wickets. They drew the test match against Australia and drew the match against Bangladesh. The Indian team’s real test will be against Sri Lanka and then South Africa at home. The Indian team has good fast bowlers like Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron, Ishant Sharma who can win matches on their own.
Sri Lanka has lot of youngsters there in the team which lacks experience of playing test matches. The absence of Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene has left a huge gap in the batting order but the youngsters need to step up. Captain Mathews has the most experience in the team. The bowling looks promising with the likes of Chammera, Prasad, Kaushal, Ragana Herath. This team needs more time to perform. They lost the test series against New Zealand 1-0 and lost the test series against Pakistan at home 1-2.
Bangladesh is not a great test team at all. They lack experience of playing test matches against big nations and do not have the patience. The Bangladesh team has a good batting line up but their bowling is cause of concern. Bangladesh lost the test series against Pakistan 0-1 and face a tough challenge against South Africa.
