The player draft for the 2016 edition of the Caribbean Premier League was conducted recently and it saw an array of international stars being in the squads of the franchises. Australian all-rounder Shane Watson was the center of attraction as he was picked up by the St Lucia Zouks. This will be Watson’s first appearance in the CPL. Watson was also recently the highest paid player in the 2016 IPL Player Auctions.

Apart from Watson, retired Australians stars such as Brad Hodge and Mike Hussey too were in the league. The latter would be in Watson’s team while Hodge would represent the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Watson seemed galvanized with his drafting and was quoted saying, “It’s a tournament that I’ve always wanted to be a part of.” “It looks very cool, awesome atmosphere and there are world-class players playing in the tournament as well, so I really can’t wait to be a part of it. “It’s very special to be able to play in the Caribbean.”
