Nostalgias of sports are all set come back in West Indies as the Caribbean sporting legends like Brian Lara and Dwight Yorke are all set to participate in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) cricket charity match at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts between the Prime Minister St Kitts and Nevis XI and Sir Vivian Richards XI on this Thursday, StarSports.com reported.
Lara is among the all time greats from West Indies. He is the highest run-getter of the West Indies in cricket, while footballer Yorke created history by winning the coveted treble in a single season for EPL giants Manchester United in 1999.
The match will also feature players like Ian Bishop, Sturat Williams and Daren Ganga from the host nation while Australia’s Damien Martyn and England’s Darren Gough will be treated as the guest.
The earning from the game will be given to the St Kitts-Nevis National Education Foundation (SKBBEF), which is a nonprofit organisation working on education of under privileged children.
“We’ve got some fantastic names from the worlds of cricket and entertainment due to take part in the charity match, the event is set to mark the pinnacle of celebrations in St. Kitts and Nevis,” said Damien O’Donohoe, CEO of the CPL.
“The Hero CPL is the biggest party in sport, so we’re expecting a fun and colourful evening of entertaining cricket, whilst raising money for a worthy cause.” he added.
