Former Indian team director Ravi Shastri said that Virat Kohli terrific sensational form can benefit Indian cricket going forward in the year. Kohli has played excellent cricket in the Indian Premier League 2016 scoring four centuries and is the leading runs scorer in the tournament with 919 runs. He played a crucial role in helping Royal Challengers Bangalore to reach the playoffs and also the number 2 spot in the table.

“Virat has hit a purple patch. Terrific batting. If he goes on like this, it will only keep on serving Indian cricket and be beneficial to it. The kind of batting on offer from him, he will make you stand up and applaud.”

Virat Kohli was in fantastic form in the recently concluded ICC World T20 tournament held in March- April. He was the leading runs scorer in the tournament with 273 runs. The Indian batsmen were struggling but Virat Kohli form will help Indian cricket a lot. He has the eagerness to win the match for whichever team he plays. The cricketing fraternity is praising Virat Kohli about the form and said that he can match Sachin Tendulkar record if he stays fit.

Virat Kohli ability to chase down the target and absorb pressure in tough situations makes him a special player. With two matches to go in IPL, Virat Kohli is on the verge of scoring 1000 runs in a season shows the consistency.

With 17 test matches to be played between 2016-17 season if he continues his excellent form in test matches also then there will no body to stop Virat Kohli and Indian team.
