Quinton de Kock is the first player from the 2012 Under-19 World Cup to burst into the International scene. In the early stages of his career, he was considered as a push over and experts felt that he needed time to get going in International cricket. But he came back strongly by scoring 4 ODI tons inside a single month which included 3 tons against World Champions India in a 3 match ODI series. He also had a good CLT20 and Ram Slam T20 for Highveld Lions.
It was expected that Sunrisers Hyderabad will retain him. But it didn’t happen and now de Kock will look to make amends in the 2014 IPL auctions. Kolkata Knight Riders will look to sign the South African teenager in the upcoming auctions.
