South Africa have suffered a huge blow as their star pacer Dale Steyn has been ruled out of the remainder of the Test series against Australia due to a shoulder injury.
Scans have confirmed that there is a fracture in Steyn’s right shoulder bone and it’ll take some time for him to get back to his full fitness.
Steyn was bowling to Usman Khawaja on Day 2 of the Perth Test vs Australia when he went down in pain and signaled the physio to come onto the field. He had suffered the same injury during the series against England earlier this year.
He later bounced back to the scene in the World T20 in India but did not have a good time on the pitch.
Due to the injury many predicted Steyn might consider retiring from white ball cricket but Faf du Plessis ruled out any such possibilities.
Steyn has played 85 tests till now in which he has taken a staggering 417 wickets with best figures of 7/51 against India in Nagpur in 2010.
