New Zealand announced a 12-man squad for the upcoming match against Scotland on Wednesday at Christchurch.

In an unexpected situation, the black caps named the left arm veteran Daniel Vettori in the 12-man squad which will play against Scotland.

Daniel Vettori last played a match for New Zealand in June 2013 in the Champions Trophy. It would be interesting to watch how his body responds, are his fitness levels up to the mark? However, Vettori has expressed that he still wants to play the World Cup 2015 and an extraordinary performance might just well do the thing for him to make it to the World Cup.

On the other hand, New Zealand have rested the players who played in the Champions League T20 for the Northern Knights. That means Kane Williamson, BJ Watling, Tim Southee and Trent Boult are not in the team. Moreover, Ross Taylor and Jimmy Needham are kept out of this match. In addition, there are a few new faces in the side. Tom Latham, Dean Brownlie will look to impress with their talent while McClenaghan and Henry will fight for the spot of the fast bowler.

The Black Caps will then host 3 ODI’s against South Africa which will start from next Tuesday. The squad will be announced this Sunday.
