After BCCI announced its 30 members probable squad for the Cricket World Cup of which 15 men will be playing the tournament in Australia in next year, Social Media sites like Facebook and Twitter seen the outrage from the Cricket fans against BCCI and especially against present Indian Captain, MS Dhoni, as they were frustrated over not finding the 5 senior players names who played an important role in making India the Champions of the World Cup in previous edition.

However, it was an expected call with none of Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj, Harbhajan and Zaheer, hardly been part of ODIs for almost two years and any of them weren’t part of India’s Champions Trophy winning Squad.

Given their experience, past record and impact on the game they can make, some of the experts backed them but unfortunately their performances in recent period didn’t look to give a chance to selectors to think about.

Here are the stats of the each and every senior player among all there formats since October, 2013:

Yuvraj Singh, the Man of the Tournament in 2011 World Cup with his all-round show, passed more than an year without a century in any of the three formats and to add more bad, he failed to score even a half century in 6 First Class matches he played. However, his bowling figures didn’t look that great either.

His last appearance came back in April, 2014 where India lost to Sri Lanka in the final of World T20 in which, Yuvraj Singh’s contribution was a well know one.

Virender Sehwag:

Virender Sehwag, commonly known for the aggressive intent in batting and the capability of innings that change the match’s course are no more. He had a terrible start to the year with recording poor performance around the domestic circuit after the year in which he was dropped from the side. However, he made some decent contribution to his IPL team, Kings XI Punjab in both IPL and CLT20, but failed miserably in recent matches.

However, he came into consideration for getting selected for Australian Test tour but soon faded away with poor performance in recent domestic games.

Even though Gambhir didn’t have good scores around Limited overs formats, he done a decent job in First Class stints which gained his a Test Call up earlier this year for England tour where he struggled to score even in double digits and lost from Selectors’ view.

Easily, Harbhajan Singh was the first senior player to be dropped from the side, just months after India became World Champions.

Despite of have a good numbers in First Class and Twenty20 games, Harbhajan’s stats in One Day games weren’t impressive which were required to be picked up in ODI team.

However, it was tough for the 3rd highest wicket taker for India in tests to make a cut over the young spinners who had upper hand with better batting impact.

Zaheer Khan:

Zaheer Khan was probably best senior player to be recording good numbers in the last one year peroid but the injury he caught up during IPL didn’t leave his yet putting a massive effect on his career.

Zaheer played in both the overseas tours’ Test Series where looked good enough to be within the team in starting of the year. Zaheer, commonly known for his fitness struggles improved with certain fitness camps before he made a comeback to Indian team. He showed up his fitness improvement bowling longer spells.

Can the Five Seniors Make in World Cup 15? If then How?:

Given that there is no rule about including a player in final 15 who couldn’t make into Probable squad, there is still a small hope for the senior players’ and their fans.

However, the hope will be to record dream performances which are seen in EA Cricket game putting Difficulty level at 1 Star in the Ranji Trophy starting this Sunday and expect the main considered young players to flop badly which no one ever would have thought of.
