With Harbhajan Singh also opting not to play the first-class format, Jiwanjot Singh will again be leading the side. He had led Punjab in the first game of the season when Bhajji and was absent, and Yuvraj went to National Cricket Academy (NCA) for the fitness test.

With Yuvraj opting to sit out of the game, it gives an indication that both Yuvraj and Harbhajan have given up hopes of their comeback in international cricket.

Yuvraj was a part of the Indian team for ICC Champions Trophy and retained his place for Windies series as well. He injured himself due Windies series and from then, he is yet to play in international cricket.

There was also news that he isn’t given a place in the team due to a failure of yo-yo test. As per the report, he has failed the test twice over a period of two months and as is not in contention to make a comeback for Indian team at least in the near future.

Though surprises can always happen and one cannot rule out comeback of Yuvraj Singh. As of now, he is not a part of any India squad. He was last selected in the top 15 of the series against Windies.

On the other hand, it is still not sure whether Bhajji will take part in rest of the season. He missed the previous complete first-class season, the reason for which is not known. The last time he played for India was in 2016 when he represented the country in the Asia Cup match against UAE.

Surely, Harbhajan Singh is at least not looking for a comeback in the Test side.
