Rohit Sharma became the first cricketer in the history of Cricket to score 2 double centuries in One Day Internationals. Nobody thought that the score of 200 by an individual was possible 4 to 5 years ago. This is a proud moment that all the 3 double centurions in ODI are all from India.

Rohit was given a life in the first few overs as he was dropped on the score of just 4 runs but after that he just made the most of the chance he got and plundered the Sri Lankan bowling which looked listless. India are lucky to have such talented batsmen in the team & the country.

Because of his great innings the Indian team made 404 for 5 in 50 overs.  He began his innings slowly, but after that he just stepped on the gas pedal and made the Sri Lankans pay for the dropped catch. The crowd enjoyed a lot and Rohit had to prove that he is good option at the opening slot. He hit some unusual shots in the latter part of his innings which baffled the Sri Lankans and he did not show mercy on them. With this innings he has challenged Shikhar Dhawan for the opening slot for the World Cup 2015. He now has the highest score in One day International and proved his worth.

Rohit Sharma’s other double century came against Australia in 2013. During his innings, that day, he hit the most number of sixes in One day Internationals. He scored 209 not out. It was a brilliant knock from Rohit Sharma. He became the third batsmen on that day to score double centuries in One day Internationals. It shows the talent of the batsmen and why has got so many chances in his career.

The first person to score a double ton in One day Internationals was the Master Blaster himself, Sachin Tendulkar. He scored 200 not out against South Africa. This genius man has all the records in his book and showed how to play One day international innings by becoming the 1st man ever to score a double century in ODI cricket.

Virender Sehwag, hit the second double century in One day Internationals. He scored 219 against West Indies at Indore and remains the highest score in One day Internationals till (Rohit Sharma broke the record on the 13th November 2013.) He was complete power-hitter of the ball, which made him a very dangerous batsman to bowl at. He has records in test matches scoring two triple centuries.

So this moment of the 3 Indians scoring double centuries shows the power of Indian batting which has lot of depth and can do wonders on any ground.
