England: 319 and 173 for 5 (Root 52*, Moeen 39) need another 146 runs to beat India: 295 and 342 (Vijay 95, Jadeja 68, Bhuvneshwar 52)

England batsmen Joe Root and Moeen Ali almost batted through the first session of the day 5 of the second test at Lord’s Cricket Ground, before Ishant Sharma got wicket on stroke of lucnh to remove Moeen Ali who contributed 39. MS Dhoni led Indian test team’s wait for an overseas test team that has a span of over three years which includes 15 tests seems to end today at Lords after the conclusion of the day four of the test. Resuming at the overnight score of 104-4, England cautiously batted the entire session scoring __ runs in the entire session. Both Root and Ali were calculative in their approach and denied the Indian bowlers for a breakthrough. MS Dhoni tried everything he could just to see his bowlers efforts go in vain.

India’s only legitimate chance came early in the day when the ball fell short of Shikhar Dhawan who was standing a couple of yards back at first slip. Root capitalised on the knock and got to his fifth test fifty when he punished Ishant Sharma for three boundaries in an over. Moeen Ali was at his best as didn’t allow the bowlers to breach his defence. Only Ravindra Jadeja looked threatening in the seasion that belonged to England.

England go into Lunch on day 5 on 173 for 5 and still need 146 runs to come out victorious.
