England’s rising speedster Chris Jordan has claimed that England must not lose focus on Sri Lanka Tour and feels that team needs to take only one game at a time as ICC World Cup 2015 is too far ahead.

During an interview with Daily Mail, Jordan said:

“Everyone is talking about the World Cup, but for me it’s about staying in the moment.

“We are a new side and are still getting to know each other. We need to start winning in Sri Lanka to put ourselves in a good position for the World Cup.”

England begin their tour of Sri Lanka with two practice games scheduled on 21st and 23rd November and the actual series begins on 26th November 2014.

It’s true that England have had a pathetic 2014 with respect to ODIs. They lost to Australia 4-1, Sri Lanka 3-2 and got humiliated by India 3-1. No one considers them as favourites to win the World Cup and in fact, many think that they will not be able to go past the quater-finals. But I think that if the likes of Alex Hales, Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler and Chris Jordan perform well in the ODIs against Sri Lanka and in the tri-series in Australia just before the World Cup, then England can stand a chance to reach the grand stage of the tournament.
