Before the World Cup, 2015 started the England cricket team had changed the captain to Eoin Morgan and they were knocked out in the first round itself. The England team only won two matches against minnows Scotland and Afghanistan. They had lost to Bangladesh in the first round itself. The England batting looked out of sorts who had players like Ian Bell and some other players which were out of form.

The England team announced a new batting coach and new head coach. After the World Cup, the English selectors had players situated for One day Internationals. In the One-day International series against New Zealand, they played some aggressive and attacking cricket. In the first One-day International match in that series the England team scored 408 runs in 50 over’s with Joe Root scoring 104 and Buttler 129 off 77 balls which England won by 210 runs. In the second ODI, New Zealand scored 398 for 5 and England almost chased the target. England had some aggressive players like Jason Roy, Alex Hales, Eoin Morgan, Ben Stokes. The England team won the series 3-2. Following that series, England played against Australia. In that series too England played some excellent cricket and put the pressure on the Australian team but England lost the ODI series 2-3.

After losing the test series against Pakistan 0-2, the England team came back strongly in the One-day International series. England lost the first One-day International by 6 wickets; this team came back and won the last 3 matches to win the series 3-1. Every member of the team contributed in this series with Alex Hales and Jason Roy building opening partnerships, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan giving a solid foundation for the middle order to make huge scores.

In the last One-day International at Dubai, Buttler played a breathtaking knock of 116 off 52 balls which helped England to post a big total of 355. The England bowlers were put under pressure but picked wickets at regular intervals and England won the match by 84 runs. This is a great performance by the England team which has performed poorly in the recent past.

England has a good mix of bowlers which includes Chris Woakes, David Willey, Reece Topley, Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali. England has played good aggressive cricket after a poor World Cup 2015. The England cricket needs a specialist for shorter format of cricket. With England cricket doing well in One-day Internationals this year, the other teams in the world must be careful of this England team which have some attacking players which can change the course of the match.

The England team had defeated the runners up of World Cup 2015, gave a tough fight to World champions and defeated Pakistan in UAE 3-1 has been an excellent effort by the English team. With ICC Champions trophy to be held in 2017 if they perform like this way then the other teams might be in a tough fight.
