After showing up a sensational form in the recently concluded Unofficial ‘A’ Test series against Australia, Naman Ojha has been called up to England for joining the team for remaining two test matches in the Investec Series.

According to the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, Ojha is expected to leave on August 4 for England to join the squad for the fourth Test, which begins from August 7 at Old Trafford, Manchester.

He has been called up to replace the backup wicket keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha who got injured. Yet no news about his injury have been known.

Ojha, deserves the call after the a remarkable feat of scoring three back to back centuries during India A – Australia A test series played Down Under. During this tour, Ojha has smashed an unbeaten 219, a 101 not out and 110 respectively in 3 innings over two matches, averaging 430 runs.

When contacted, Ojha said, “I got the news from Sanjay Pateria.

I don’t know how to express my feelings. To play a Test match is a matter of great pride for all cricketers. I am extremely lucky to have been selected in the team and if I get the chance to play for India, I will try to give it my best.

He said that he is not worried over the conditions but want to continue his form and wants to put up his level best.

Ojha said, “I am not worried about variation in condition as if I get a chance, will try to maintain the same batting form.

Ojha earlier made a brief appearance in International cricket during the India tour of Zimbabwe in 2010 where he made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka against whom he scored just one run. In the recent IPL season, Ojha played for Sunrisers Hyderabad and batted really well.
