After a fantabulous win in the last ODI at Cardiff, India was all set to face England in the 3rd ODI. India won the toss and elected to bowl first. The spinners were at great advantage today and every bowler except Mohit Sharma from the India side took at least 1 wicket. With Ravichandran Ashwin picking the most number of wickets. With a great bowling attack India ended the English innings at 227 runs by bowling 50 overs and taking 10 wickets. There were no big hitters in the match today and everyone worked as a team. Ambati Rayudu being the main starrer of the match. Here is the list of the HITS and FLOPS of the 3rd ODI.

Hits of the Day

1. Ambati Rayudu

The main star of the match was Ambati Rayudu, who scored a half century and also picked up a wicket today. He blew the England bowling attack with his batting prowess. None of the bowlers stood a chance against him. He made a successful partnership with Suresh Raina.

2. Suresh Raina

He showed great batting skills as well as bowling skills today. In the 1st innings of the match he picked up wicket Alex Hales, who was going strong, in his 8 overs spell. On the batting side he scored runs at a high strike rate and runs were coming from his bat often. He made lots of runs in partnership with Rayudu.

3. Ravichandran Ashwin

The ball turned as Ashwin wanted it to and the results were what he deserved. He picked up three wickets and helped India so that they have to chase a small target.

4. Alastair Cook

The skipper made a great start for his team by making a very good partnership with Alex Hales. Both the players dominated the early part of the innings and gave England a quick head start. But after being dismissed England started falling.

5. Alex Hales

Alex Hales assisted his skipper well and their partnership runs was 82. A crucial partnership for the English team. Without which there would be no big totals for England today.

6. Virat Kohli

After days and days of struggle finally Virat Kohli proved why his the 1st to consider for ODIs. He contributed 40 runs to the India’s innings. And finally silenced the critics with his performance.

Flops of the Day

1. Joe Root

Joe Root was again struggled with his form today. Just like the last match he was of no use today. Today he scored only 2 runs before giving away his wicket to Ravindra Jadeja. On the bowling he too was not in the good side. He gave away many runs in short spell.

2. Steven Finn

Steven Finn was on the expensive side today. He gave away a lot of runs. And made it easy for the Indians to score easily. And in the end he ended up with a single wicket.

3. James Tredwell

James Tredwell too was on the expensive side. He managed to take the wicket of Suresh Raina but it was too late for that. Raina already did the damage.

4. James Anderson

James Anderson was unable to provide some good results with his bowling skills. He too was unable to take any wickets.

5. Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan didn’t prove to be the run machine. He has been struggling like Virat Kohli since days and days. But the reason why Virat Kohli didn’t appear in the FLOPS was that he performed well today but Dhawan didn’t.
