England and SriLanka met in the 3rd ODI of the series , where the series was tied at 1-1 each till then. It proved out to be a one sided affair. Sri Lanka were bundled out for just 67 runs and England chased it down in 12.1 overs without losing a wicket.

Hits of the match

1: Chris Jordan: He bowled with some pace and made up for his  failure in the previous match. He just gave away 29 runs in 8 overs , picking up 5 wickets .  He started with the price wicket of Kumar Sangakkara, who has been the backbone of the Sri Lankan batting line up.

2: James Anderson: With the conditions favouring his style of bowling , he created a straight forward impact , which was carried by Tredwell and  Jordan. He gave away just 10 runs in 7 overs and picked up both the openers, Dilshan and Thrimanne.

3: Alastair Cook: He did not do something very significant, but also did not get a chance to. On a day, when the bowlers dominated the bat, he scored 30 not out. Also, he winning the toss was crucial in the match and to an extent decided the match.

4: James Tredwell: He bowles just 3 overs and picked up 2 wickets, giving away just 2 runs. He picked up the wickets of Mahela Jayawardane and Senanayake.

Flops of the Match:

1: Dilshan: A lion in the previous match turned out to be a lamb in this one. He was bamboozled by the English pace attack and was clueless during his stay on the crease. He just scored 2 runs from 11 balls before being dismissed by a outswinger from James Anderson, edging it to the wicket keeper.

2: Ashan Priyanjan: He too , was a hero of the previous game and looked a young gem. He scored a quick fire 43 in the last game but could not get his team out of trouble this time. He was unlucky and got himself run out at the score of 2.

3:Mahela Jayawardane: He looked set , after taking a good number of balls but then played one across the line of James Tredwell and was adjudged LBW. He , now will be under serious pressure to lift his game, as he has done nothing significant for some time now.

All in all, the whole Sri Lamkan line up was a flop and English team was much better in all aspects.
