After a successful ODI series Bangladesh will take on the South Africans in the Tests and it would be a hard task for the hosts as South Africa are ranked no 1 test side in the world and it takes huge skill for any team to take down the Proteas. Bangladesh has shown immense improvement in ODI’s but it’s the same old story regarding Tests. Bangladesh doesn’t have the ex-factor to challenge the top teams in Tests.
On the contrary, South Africa has been hugely impressive with their away performances in recent years with winning some tight series overseas and has become a big deal for any teams to take them down. Whereas Bangladesh is quite a developing Test playing nation and it will be a huge learning curve for them playing against the best side in the world.
The pace trio of Steyn, Morkel and Philander will return to Test matches and it would be really interesting to know whether the skipper Amla would stick with these three as the conditions will most probably suit the spinners. Their Star batsman AB De Villers has been rested for this series.
Bangladesh will be hugely dependent on their batting which is their strong department and the bowling doesn’t seem to be a potent attack and it would not cause much of a concern for the South Africans. South Africa will start the series as firm favourites but one can ought to see some good performances from the hosts
