Five Indian fast bowlers who clocked 150 km/ph on speedometer The Indian fast bowler is like a diamond as they come occasionally in Indian cricket scenario, consistency is not their cup of tea. They took the world by surprise during their heydays. But, their lightning speed is not long-lasting injury, age, hot and humid climate never accompanied them to their wish.

Here are four Indian bowlers who clocked 150 km/ph mark, but forced to reduce their speed. Although, the current Indian team is blessed with genuine fast bowlers who can bowl fast consistently.

The Indian bowler played for India for 11 years, he took 315 ODI wicket and 236 Test wickets. He was the foundation of the Indian bowling attack during his playing days. In the 1999 World Cup Srinath clocked 154.5 Kmph (96 mph) mark on the speedometer to become India’s quickest bowler and second fastest after Shoaib Akhtar in that tournament.

He is currently among the leading Indian fast bowlers, he started his international career at the age of 19. In his first full-fledged ODI series in Australia, he shows his potential. In the fourth match of his career, he took 4 wickets against Australia at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). In the same series, he delivered the fastest ball of his life. At Adelaide on February 17, 2008, he clocked 152.6 km/ph (94.8 mph) and become the second-fastest bowler in the history.

The young 25-year old Indian pacer appeared on the international scene in 2011. The 21-year-old,  he used to bowl quick, but one hip injury kept him out for a long time, In the last four years he played 7 Tests and  ODI. In November 2014, he clocked 152.5 km/ph (94.5 mph) mark, the second-highest by an Indian bowler. However, even after his hip surgery, he can bowl quick.

Umesh Yadav

Umesh Yadav can bowl 150 km/ph consistently, his only problem is he can’t keep his control over the ball. He is among the fastest bowlers of the current international fast bowlers. His fastest ball is 152.5 km/ph (94.5 mph) came against Sri Lanka in 2012, Brisbane.  However, the 27-year old is one of the leading Indian bowlers.

Ashish Nehra 

Ashish Nehra was once one of the best new-ball bowlers for India during the early years of this new millennium. He brings the popping crease most of the virtues of a classical left-arm bowler-pace, accuracy, subtle variations of line and length. He has an ability to move the ball off the wicket and a devastating late inswinger that can harass the best.

The high point came in 2003 World Cup against England, where he scalped 6 for 23. During his venomous spell at Durban, South Africa he bowled his fastest delivery 149.7 km/ph (93 MPH) just seven days after his 149.5. Unfortunately, injury battles eroded his career. The 36-year old played just 120 matches for India.
