Though Team India have moved into the quarter-finals of the International Cricket Council World Cup under the guidance of Duncan Fletcher, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already started searching for a new coach for the Men in Blue.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Anurag Thakur made it clear that they would not continue the services of the Zimbabwean coach after the international Cricket Council World Cup, and he has also accepted that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is still not clear about the future of Ravi Shastri as the team director. The secretary has accepted that it is time to move ahead.

Anurag Thakur said that they have to look for a new coach after the International Cricket Council World Cup. As far as Shastri is concerned, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not sure whether he will continue. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will have a conversation with him before determining the future course of action.

Duncan Fletcher’s agreement was extended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) till the World Cup, and now they have determined to get someone else replacing Fletcher.

He further said that till the World Cup, they are not going to change anything. They will look into the issue and if need be, change certain regulations and also added that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is always ready to help the media personnel work better.

Last week, Shahryar Khan, the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman met Thakur to discuss about revitalizing the India-Pakistan series and Anurag Thakur said it is too early to take a call on that. He said that it depends on the relationship between the two countries and a lot will depend on government’s directive.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to look beyond Fletcher.
