A swift action from the Police has resulted in the arrest of four bookies involved in betting over the final outcome of the ongoing World T20 tournament in Bangladesh.

Police Commissioner Parmjit Singh Gill informed the media that one mini telephone exchange, 36 mobile phones and cash in the range of Rs 35,000 has been recovered from the bookmakers by a raiding party.

The bookies were said to be operating at a house in Basant colony, Ludhiana.

The Commissioner informed that the bookies were nabbed when they were found betting on Monday’s World T20 encounter between South Africa and New Zealand.
