Break down (team-wise) of Chris Gayle’s 200 sixes in the IPL

For all those thinking if Chris Gayle has really done the impossible, well he hasn’t. But yes he has scored a 200 and this it is not a double century of runs that we are talking about but a double century of sixes in IPL is what is being spoken about here.

In the span of 70 matches that he played in IPL, the mighty West Indian batsmen has already managed to send the ball 200 times over the rope. This makes it 1200 runs coming just of sixes in the 2825 runs that have been scored by him. Then there are 233 boundaries too, which are also the 2nd highest in IPL. This makes it 2132 runs of just 6s and 4s in IPL so far.

Well, now we know why this man does not like running much. When you can stand and deliver why run and waste your energy is probably the logic of Gayle. He rather likes to sweat it out by practicing new dance moves.

Anyways, this article is more about the 200 that Gayle has scored and not his moves. So here we bring to you the break-up of sixes hit by Gayle against every team in IPL:

Gayle has hit most number of sixes against the Kings XI Punjab team. Kings XI has had to suffer the wrath of Gayle 40 times in the 12 matches they have been against him.

On 2nd position is the team, that Gayle probably loves playing against. With 36 sixes in 5 matches easily proves the fact. After all the innings of 175* also came against the Pune Warriors India team.

Kochi Tuskers Kerala were lucky to face the left handed batsmen only once but were still hammered for 5 sixes even then. In the list the only team that has looked to contain Gayle so far is the SRH and DC team as they have been hit only for 3 and 5 sixes in 5 and 4 matches respectively. These two teams were considered to have the best pace attack in IPL and that has probably done the trick for them.

The lowest number of sixes hit by Gayle is against is current team RCB. He hit just one six when he was playing for KKR against RCB. Chris Gayle also tweeted about the by saying ‘Only 2 against RCB lol’ but quickly realised that it’s just one six that he has hit against his current team and tweeted again with a smiley emoticon.
