Australian Cricketing Great Allan Border has tipped Glenn Maxwell to be Australia’s match-winner at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

Border quoted:

“I think is on the threshold of a breakout period. He’s got the talent, the skills. It’s just sort of corralling all that when he’s out in the middle.”

“This could be his reason to really break free and really show the multi talents he’s got.”

Allan Border has also urged Michael Clarke and his team to embrace the pressure and expectations that come while co-hosting the World Cup with New Zealand rather than succumbing to it.

Ricky Ponting, the two time captain of the World Cup winning team of Australia had other views. Ponting expressed that Maxwell was just one of the several X-factors who could win the gold for Australia again.

Ponting said:

Mitch Marsh could be someone like that, even David Warner at the top of the order.”

“Whichever 15 they decide to go with, there’s going to be lots of those x-factor players in the lineup.”
