Discarded Indian batsman, Suresh Raina, on Thursday (October 12), refused to comment on the issue of the Yo-Yo test.

A few days back, Raina had failed the test for the second time in a period two months, which prevented him from getting a place in the India A team for the series against New Zealand A.

It was after the conclusion of Duleep Trophy when Raina underwent the fitness test, but couldn’t reach the desired mark. When asked regarding this, Raina said that reporters should go and ask BCCI.

It is to get noted that as per the new norms of the board, a player has to prove his fitness and has to clear the yo-yo test in order to get a place in the Indian team. No matter the performance, it is the fitness which is of much importance.

In past few months, it has become a much-debated topic in the Indian cricketing circles, that Amit Mishra, the out of favour leggie, had to even come out with an explanation that he had not flunked the test.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Yuvraj Singh had failed the Yo-Yo test, which automatically rules him out of contention for the upcoming series against New Zealand. Yuvraj underwent the test on Tuesday, alongside R Ashwin and Cheteshwar Pujara.

Both Ashwin and Pujara cleared the test with flying colours and achieved the desired mark while Yuvraj failed to get the job done. It has now again put Yuvraj’s future in doubt, as with each day, the chance of him getting his a place in the Indian team is getting slim and bleak.

Same is the case with Suresh Raina, who was once known to be one of the fittest cricketers in India.
