Harbhajan Singh slams BCCI’s policy of green tops

Harbhajan Singh, the Indian discard has slammed the BCCI’s latest policy of preparing green top wickets stating that these wickets are just a false hope to the medium pacers and have taken away the class of Indian spinners. Harbhajan, who could not even make into the probables list for the World Cup 2015, clearly mentioned that it will be tough to produce spinners on green tops.

Harbhajan claims that too much of grass is being left which makes even an ordinary medium pace  bowler unplayable. He added that these wickets makes a 120 km/hr bowler look like Malcolm Marshall. Harbhajan has called for a fair wicket where if the batsman applies himself, he must be able to score runs and pacers must have something. Also, the pitch must assist the spinners from atleast Day 3 onwards.

This Ranji season has seen many spinners perform below par and Uttar Pradesh has felt the most of it, with their captain Piyush Chawla virtually unable to contribute with the bowl. Even someone of Kulddep Yadav’s calibre has been left out of the 11 due to this.

He also talked about Sachin Tendulkar practising to play Shane Warne by getting the deliveries pitched on the rough , but according to Harbahjan the rough is no more present and this is causing toruble to the Indian team.

Talking about his International comback, Bhajji said that he has not lost the desire to make an International comeback  and said that he is playing the game because he loves it. He is continuing to play in the ranji Trophy , not to keep himself fit for the IPL but to make a comeback into the Indian side.
