Quashing all the rumours of a failed knee surgery that could have potentially ended his career, Pakistan batsman Haris Sohail has said that he is absolutely fine and he is in Pakistan only because the operation went well.
The Dawn has reported that the left-handed batsman has recovered from the knee injury that he sustained in England and will resume training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore Tuesday onwards.
Speaking to the news outlet, Haris said:“People have been saying that I haven not recovered from the injury but if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t be here in Pakistan.”
“The injury has healed and all I need now is to train, run and get fit,” he added.
He further said that he is looking forward to playing in the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League starting in February.
Earlier, the Times of India reported that the Pakistan all-rounder may have a tragic end to his international career due to the failed knee surgery
As quoted in the daily, a source from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said: “It is sad news that Sohail’s knee operation last year was not successful. The PCB chairman has now sent him to London for examinations but the picture is not very good about his future.”
Meanwhile, as claimed by The Dawn, Haris has said that he is looking forward to regaining full fitness. The highly-rated batsman has represented Pakistan in 22 ODIs and has scored 774 runs at an impressive average of 43.
