Coming to bat, Sri Lanka lost the first wicket on nought after Ishant Sharma bowled a peach of a delivery to Sadeera Samarawickrama, who shouldered arms to find the second ball of Sri Lankan innings hitting the top of off-stump.

With the fifth double-hundred on day three against Sri Lanka at Nagpur, the 29-year-old Kohli equalled the record of Rahul Dravid, as Sachin Tendulkar has six double-hundreds under his belt.

The right-handed batsman Kohli also becomes the second overall skipper after Windies legendary batsman Brian Lara to register five double-hundreds in the five-day format.

Moreover, Kohli became fourth India batsman to go past double-hundred mark while featuring against five different teams.

Kohli was dismissed on 213.
