Swashbuckling batsman Chris Gayle on February 24th, 2015 became the first player in the cricketing history to score a double hundred in World Cup. He achieved this feat against Zimbabwe where he scored 215 in 147 balls with 16 sixes and 10 fours and also surpassed Gary Kirsten’s record of the highest score (188*) by an individual player in World Cup. Gayle, who was criticized for his poor form early in the tournament, came out all guns blazing to become the 4th overall and the 1st non-Indian to score a double hundred in ODIs. Here are the list of records Chris Gayle broke during his innings.

New Zealand’s Martin Guptill became the second player to score a 200 in a World Cup. He achieved this feat in the quarter-final against West Indies of the 2015 World Cup at Wellington, where he remained unbeaten on 237 off just 163 balls.

India’s Rohit Sharma holds the record for the highest individual score in ODIs- 264 against Sri Lanka in 2014. HE is also the only the only batsman to score two double hundreds in ODIs.

The first person to score a double ton in One day Internationals was the great Sachin Tendulkar. He scored 200 not out against South Africa. This genius man has all the records in his book and showed how to play One day international innings.

Virender Sehwag, who was an excellent opener, hit the second double century in One day internationals. He scored 219 against West Indies at Indore. So this moment of the 3 Indians scoring double centuries shows the power of Indian batting which has lot of depth and can do wonders on any ground. Here is the list of  Highest Individual Scores in ODI’s.
