The Adelaide Test match between India and Australia took a sharp turn on the 4th day of the Test match. A match which was evenly poised on the end of the 3rd day now leaves India to save the Test match , partly due to poor batting display and also due to the rogh patches assisting the spinners. However Indian spinners did not manage to extract out any help for themselves and were dealt severely.

If Indian team has to win the Test match, they have to do something apart from the ordinary and have to register the highest score to win a Test match at Adelaide.

Here is a look at the highest run chases at Adelaide for a winning cause:

1: Australia 302 runs: In 1902, Australian team 302 runs for the loss of 6 wickets against England to register a win . This remains to be the highest 4th innings score at Adelaide for a winning cause.

2: West Indies 239 runs: The mighty Windies of the 80s once scored 239 runs for the loss of 5 wickets and registered a win against Australia.

3: India 233 runs : The famous Adelaide win for India in 2003 when Rahul Dravid led India to victory against Australia , and India managed to score 233 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.

4: West Indies 233 runs: West Indies team in 1951 managed to score 233 runs for the loss of 4 wickets to register a win against Australia.
