Cricket is the game of Runs and wickets.We can not easily forget high intensity matches. These matches just scratch and stays in our heart. Here we are going to discuss about some high scoring innings. From this we can recapitulate about those fairy-tale alike high scoring cricket innings.

6. Sri lanka Scored 760/7 declared, 2009:   It was the 1st test of Sri lanka in India held at Motera stadium,Ahmedabad. India won the toss and chose to bat first. Rahul Dravid and Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored tons in this match. Dravid played a class innings in this match and he scored 177 of 261 balls. Dhoni scored 110 run of 159 balls. India ended up their 1st innings at 426 runs. In reply to India’s high score, Srilanka just flushed out India with a mammoth innings of 760 runs. Jayawardene scored 275 runs of 435 balls.Dilshan and H.A.P.W  Jayawardene scored a ton each. In 2nd innings, Gambhir and Sachin took revenge by scoring a ton each and after 5days, match was drawn.

5. Pakistan Scored 765/6 declared, 2009: It was the 1st test of SriLanka in Pakistan held at National Stadium, Karachi. Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat. Sri Lanka scored 644 runs. Mahela Jayawardene scored 240 runs and Samaraweera scored 231 runs. After the end of Sri Lanka’s batting in 1st innings Pakistan gave a stern reply to Sri Lanka’s ton. Younis Khan scored 313 runs in the innings with 55.10 strike rate. Kamran Akmal did hit a ton of 158 runs. In the 2nd innings, Sri Lanka added up 144 runs with their total run. Pakistan did not get chance to win that match and in the end match was drawn.

4. West Indies scored 790/3 declared, 1958: It was the 3rd test of Pakistan’s tour to West Indies, held at Sabina Park. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Imtiaz Ahmed hit a ton of 122 runs for Pakistan. They set a justified score of 328 runs in the score board. In reply to the Pakistan innings, West Indies scored a mammoth ton of 790 runs. Hunte and sober flooded the scoreboard with the stream of runs. Hunte scored 260 runs and Sobers scored 365 runs, which helped West Indies to reach 790 at the end of the 1st innings. In the 2nd innings, Pakistan acquired only 288 runs. West Indies won the match by an innings and 174 runs.

3. England scored 849, 1930: It was the 4th test match of England’s tour to West Indies test series, held at Sabina Park. England won the toss and elected to bat first and they did set a huge score on the board. A.Sandham was the main hero of this match. He played a devastating innings of 325 runs with 50.78 strike rate. Les Ames scored a ton too. He scored  169 runs with 85.63 strike rate. West Indies was all down at  286 runs. England added 272 runs in their score. But West Indies was unable to chase that amount of run and the match drawn.

2. England Scored 903/7 declared, 1938: It was the 5th test of the Ashes series held at The Oval. England got chance to bat first in that match         and they managed to score a ton. L.hutton played a massive innings in that innings. He scored 364 runs with a strike rate of 42.97.

Layland scored 187 with a a strike rate of 40.69,and Hardstaff Junior scored 169 with a strike rate  of 42.25. They did set a huge score on the               board. Australia srtruggled throughout the test and they were defeated by an innings.

1. Sri-Lanka Scored 925/6 declared, 1997: It was India tour of Sri Lanka in 1997 and this was the 1st test match. This match was held at R.           Premadasa Stadium. In the 1st innings, India scored 537 runs. Navjot Singh Sidhu,Sachin Tendulkar, Mohammad Azharuddin Scored a ton in                 that match.Sri-Lanka flushed out India in their 1st innings by scoring a mammoth 925 runs for the loss of just 6 wickets. Jayasurya scored 340               runs with a strike rate of 58.82.

Not only Sanath Jaysurya, R.S. Mahanama scored 225 runs with a strike rate of 40.10, PA De Silva scored 126 with a strike rate of 59.
