Hilarious: Anil Kumble could not score his second Test century due to Sehwag!

Virender Sehwag and Anil Kumble were two of the most important players of the Indian team during the last decade. Both the players helped India win several matches. While Sehwag was a major contributor with the willow, Anil Kumble was contributing with the ball. But one cannot undermine Kumble’s ability with the bat. The most successful bowler of India in Tests, Kumble has scored over 2500 Test runs with five fifties and one century. And he could have scored another century but according to Kumble, he fell short of achieving it because of his former Indian teammate Virender Sehwag.
Kumble scored his first Test hundred against England during the third Test of Pataudi Trophy 2007 and his score of unbeaten 110 was the highest by any batsman in that match. He was agonisingly close to another century next year while playing against Australia in the fourth Test of Border-Gavaskar series 2007/08 at Adelaide. Kumble was batting on 86 when the tea break was taken. At that time India’s score was 525 for the loss of nine wickets. After the break, Kumble could add only one run to his score before being dismissed by Mitchell Johnson.
Recalling the incident during a show organised by Star Sports, Kumble said:“Ishant was batting and we were nine down. I came back at tea time and I was batting at 87. So, he came to me at tea and said what are you doing, why are you taking so much time. Just go for it and the first ball I went for it, I got out and I was out 87.”
