Former Pakistan pace superstar Shoaib Akhtar today took a U-turn, After criticizing Misbah-ul-Haq majorly in the recent past, saying the skipper was the person who was keeping the squad alive and he needs assistance from other Pakistani cricketers.

A calm down Shoaib Akhtar dramatically changed his tone about the squad, Misbah and Misbah, as Shoaib Akhtar had called Misbah-ul-Haq a selfish and coward skipper in the recent past but after Pakistan’s first victory in the International Cricket Council World Cup over Zimbabwe. He said that Misbah requires the backing of other team players as he cannot carry the load all the time.

On the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Shoaib Akhtar’s opinions also emerged to have changed as he said Shaharyar Khan, the board Chairman and his predecessor Najam Sethi were seasoned guys and were doing a good work. But Misbah clearly sent out the message before the game against Zimbabwe and also the scolding by former Pakistani pace spearhead, Wasim Akram emerges to have had its impact on Akhtar and others. Misbah had said prior to the Zimbabwe game that some detractors and former players required to watch their language while making statements about him or the squad.

Misbah was quoted saying: “They are people who making insulting and personal comments about me and the team and I don’t think that is gracious. They can criticize if we don’t perform well but I get this feeling some of them have their own issues to deal with.

Wasim Akram also said that he was disheartened to watch some of the language being used against Misbah and the Pakistani squad and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He said that it is not a good thing for Pakistan cricket. This squad requires backing right now and they must back it not just lambaste and say things to increase a few seconds recognition in the media.
