The rain affected one-off Test between Bangladesh and India ended in an expected draw. Only 248 overs were bowled throughout the four days. Second day was washed way due to incessant rain. On the fifth and final day India enforced Bangladesh follow-on as the hosts managed to score only 256 runs in reply to India’s first innings total 462-6. India with  206 run lead asked Bangladesh to follow-on in their second innings. After 15 overs of play, the match was called off when the hosts were batting at 23-0.

However, Rain made India to pay the expensive cost in the ICC Test ranking. With the draw India are now on 97 rating points, lost their third position to New Zealand, who too are on 97 rating points, but the Tasmanian team have played more matches than India with positive outcome in their favour. New Zealand just have drawn the two Test series against England with one loss and one win.

Australia’s series victory over West Indies have not changed their position in the ICC Test ranking, they remain second on 109 rating points below South Africa, who tops the current chart with huge 130 rating points. But, Australia’s 2-0 series victory over West Indies will place India at the bottom with 96 rating points, just above the West Indies, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

Currently, England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka are in the 4th, 5th and 6th  position with 97, 97, and 96 rating points respectively, while India languish at 7th on 96 rating points. As India have played 24 matches, 3 more than Sri Lanka, India will stand below them at 7th. India will play their next Test series in Sri Lanka.
