Karan Gilhotra, the man who has appeared in limelight after an advisory being issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary and the person was asked to stay away from suspected bookies. On Monday, Gilhotra has accused the global cricket body of trying to “malign” Anurag Thakur’s image by using Gilhotra.
Recently, Gilhotra has been subjected to controversies after the ICC had issued an advisory to Anurag Thakur, who was seen to be photographed with the businessman in Chandigarh.
Gilhotra even asked about the fact that why doesn’t the media ask ICC if they have put him on watch list, then they must have something to share, why they don’t share it. He further added that just because they want to malign Mr. Thakur and want to use him for that for their own reasons which are perhaps best known to them.
Things took an ugly turn when Thakur launched a stinging attack on the ICC chairman, N Srinivasan, saying that he should share information on bookies with his own family members, whose involvement has also been proved. Thakur hit back Srinivasan through an open letter yesterday.
Also, according to reports, it was said that BCCI was sent a letter by the ICC about Thakur being seen with an alleged bookie named Karan Gilhotra in Chandigarh. Gilhotra thus urged for evidences from the ICC, if there are any.
Gilhotra said that he socializes with celebrities, cricketers. He added that he is friends with some of them like Mr. Anurag Thakur. He mentioned that he has other friends in the cricketing world. He added that if that indicate his wrongdoing, then he would like to request ICC, if they have put me in the watchlist,.they must also share the evidences for the same before they ruin the image of the individual.
