Sri Lanka have announced their 15 member squad for ICC World Cup 2015 that is scheduled to take place in Australia and New Zealand.

As expected, there is no place for Kusal Perera in the squad, who had a poor outing against India and England in the ODIs last year in November and December respectively. Selectors have included Dimuth Karunaratne as the other opener in the squad but it looks likely Mahela Jayawardene will shift to his favourite position alongwith Tillakaratne Dilshan, which will allow Sri Lanka to play Dinesh Chandimal and Lahiru Thirimanne at 4 and 5 respectively.

The squad features three genuine all-rounders with skipper Angelo Mathews, Thisara Perera and Jeevan Mendis. In fast bowling, Lasith Malinga, who has included with subject to fitness, will get the support of Kulasekara, Lakmal and Prasad. The spin department led by Rangana Herath and Sachitra Senanayake looks as threatening as ever.

This will be the last World Cup for Sangakkara, Jayawardene and Dilshan and they would be itching to play their best cricket and win the cup for Sri Lanka.

Squad:

Angelo Mathews (c), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Dinesh Chandimal, Lahiru Thirimanne, Jeevan Mendis, Thisara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Dhammika Prasad, Rangana Herath, Sachitra Senanayake, Suranga Lakmal, Dimuth Karunaratne

Probable Playing XI:

Tillakaratne Dilshan, Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara, Dinesh Chandimal, Lahiru Thirimanne, Angelo Mathews, Thisara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Suranga Lakmal, Sachitra Senanayake
