Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has revealed that his father wanted him to be a cricketer and hired former Indian cricketer Salim Durrani as his coach.

Salman Khan in his new movie “Sultan”  portrayed the life of a wrestler from Haryana whose successful career creates a fiasco in his personal life.

Though Salman Khan has a passion in acting  for becoming an actor, the actor admitted that he was left-handed batsman  but he was never interested in the game. Earlier, this year Salman was seen playing with nephew Nrivan in a celebrity Cricket League match.

As per the reports from The Times of India, the Bollywood actor said, “My dad wanted me to play cricket. That could have happened easily but I just didn’t see myself going for cricket practice at 5:30 in the morning. This life is as it is difficult for me; cricket would have been very difficult,”

The leading actor of Bollywood said it was difficult for him to reach school on time, so he hardly  gets time to practice cricket.

He said, “Reaching school used to be a big problem itself. At 9 I used to attend my first lecture. So I used to wake up at about 8:30 AM and barely manage to reach school on time. Now before school, it was this… I actually wanted to be a director.”

“Salim Durani was hired to be my coach. The first day, he saw me play, I played very well. The second day, I did really well so he called my father the third day and said your son has got a very bright future. That is the day I realized, my father came to see me play. so I should play really badly,” said the superstar at the launch of tennis star Sania Mirza’s autobiography “Ace Against Odds.”

Salman Khan is also a big philanthropist and a humanitarian. He is an also a stage performer, he has an NGO called, “Being Human”.

However, he recently drew criticism after he was appointed as brand ambassador of Indian  Olympic contingent in the Rio.

During the shooting of his movie Sultan, a few Indian athletes were asked to leave the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium because his movie has a scene to shoot at the sporting arena.  It is now alleged that because of his shooting many athletes failed to qualify for the Olympic.
