Haseeb Hameed has been ruled out of the remaining two Tests against India, England skipper Alastair Cook confirmed the news during the post-match presentation ceremony.
Hameed suffered a blow on his finger from an uprising delivery of Umesh Yadav in the first innings. His further participation in the game was unlikely but the youngster came out to bat at No. 8, scoring a gutsy 59 off 156 balls. India won the Test by eight wickets to take 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
Hameed, who didn’t play a match in Bangladesh, made his debut at Rajkot, scoring 82 runs in the second innings.
England are yet to name his replacement for the Mumbai and Chennai Test. Ben Duckett, who has had a rough start to his Test career, might come in contention.
The fourth Test at Mumbai starts from December 8.
