Hardik Pandya once again turned to be the man with the golden arms for India, as he gave the Men in Blue the much-needed first breakthrough in the ongoing fifth and final One-Day International against Australia in Nagpur.
Fresh from their heroics in the last game, the in-form duo of David Warner and Aaron Finch had given the world champions a flying start once again. They had added 70 and 231 in the last two games and were looking set for yet another big partnership after adding 66 runs for the first wicket before Pandya quashed their hopes. The 23-year-old, who had also ended the 231-run partnership by scalping Warner, sent back Finch this time to give India their first breakthrough.
Finch was looking primed for his third consecutive 50-plus total before he ended up lofting the Pandya delivery which was on a good length and just outside off. However, there was still a lot to do for Jasprit Bumrah, as he had to run to his left to complete the catch and the fast-bowler did well to hold on the catch. He could not grab the ball cleanly on the first attempt, but fortunately, the ball lobbed off his body then hit his thigh and lobbed up, allowing Bumrah to somehow hold onto it.
Here is a clip of that brilliant catch:
