We are almost a quarter through the exhilarating season of IPL and the experience is nothing less than an adrenal rush. Nail-biting finishes, super overs and slap-gate scandals have converted this IPL season into an electrifying epoch of entertainment.

In spite of being 6 seasons down, there is something about this form of the game that girdles the country into a line of unanimity. The season has started great and some fresh names lead the points table. Though it is a little early to predict the semi-finalists but here is a possibility of how the game looks ahead. Delhi Daredevils: Yes, it has been a late start for Delhi in this season but having Sir Viv Richards mentoring this team has changed the direction of losses into a streak of winning. With Sehwag coming back in great form, this team will surely look forward to turn tables. With dim chances of making it to the semi-finals, Delhi surely would love to disturb chances of a few teams and their hopes of making it to the top 4. Sun Risers Hyderabad:A reintroduced squad which has transformed itself into a sturdier side, their bowling attack has been at a peak form with Ishant and Dale in the frontline and Mishra spinning up their chances to lead. From here the team will start focusing on their batting to elaborate their chances of winning further. Under the assistance of Krishnamachari Srikkanth and Laxman, the team has revived its opportunities and has altered itself into a team which stands a chance as a serious contender for the Semis. (Currently at 2nd position) *standings as per matches played till 21 st April, 2013* Kings XI Punjab: A ferocious Tiger can be hurt but never out. Similar is the situation of the captain of the King XI, Adam Gilchrist. The man who led Deccan Chargers to victory in the second edition of the IPL is surely out of form but not done! With Shaun Marsh back in the side, supported with some decent talent like Hussey, Vora, Gony and Praveen Kumar, Gilchrist would want to operate the potential and fancy Punjab’s chances of making it to the top 4. Pune Warriors XI: The team of captains! Yes, in just 6 games this team has shuffled the roles of their skipper thrice in this season. Wedged in terms of getting their squad right, looks like the team has finally unruffled itself under the captaincy of Finch. With some good opening partnerships in the last couple of games and great bowling attack by the young Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, this team cannot be counted out of the league yet. Kolkata Knight Riders: The team has started with everything right except sticking to its position in the top 4. In spite of a hat-trick from S. Narine and three half centuries from the skipper, G. Gambhir the team struggles to convert their good performances into winning performances. The winners of the fifth edition of IPL need their big gun like Y. Pathan to chip some valuable shots for what he is known for. They are still in the race for the semis but it’s not going to be an easy deal to surpass few teams who are sweating it out with their all-round performances. Chennai Super Kings XI: The winners of two IPL editions are doing what they do the best and that is subsisting in the game as underdogs. With Sir Ravindra Jadeja providing some good close finishes for the team, Dhoni and his boys would love to contribute more to the winning. The most crucial thing for the team this season is that their captain cool has promoted himself up the batting order and has been in a golden touch. It’s definitely predictable that this team will sneak in the top 4 chart with some last ball finishes towards the end of the qualifiers. (Currently at 3rd position) *standings as per matches played till 21st April, 2013* Mumbai Indians: With legends like Anil Kumble, John Wright, Jonty Rhodes and Sachin Tendulkar, this team defines the epitome of cricketing experience. However, the team hasn’t exploited its talent yet. The major concern would be the performance of their new skipper Ricky Ponting. Mumbai Indians have a tough battle ahead and the only way to make it to the top 4 would be some heavy contributions other than Dinesh Karthik and some quick fire of wickets from their lead bowler Malinga. Royal Challengers Bangalore: Currently the holders of Orange Cap and the Purple Cap, the RCBs lead the chart and look forward to stay there with their bellicose performance. With the young red-blooded captain, the economical Rampaul, the Gayle storm and the ABD special in their uttermost form, the team looks confidence enough not only to make it into the top 4 but also bring home the title this year. (Currently at 1st position) *standings as per matches played till 21 st April, 2013* Rajasthan Royals: From obliterating the fame of a test player to an aggressive IPL player, the skipper of Rajasthan Royals seems to have found a secret of attainment. Leading from the front, Dravid has been performing time and again along with Rahane to give the team the right start. With the right balance of bowling attack and destructive batting line up, Rajasthan Royals definitely seem to seal their chances of making it into the semi. (Currently at 4th position) *standings as per matches played till 21st April, 2013* So the semi-finals being only a month away, it will be interesting to see who will make the cut and who will home with the hopes of winning the prestigious title in the next season of IPL.
