The ICC World Cup 2015 has been nearing its end and it has been revealed that the winners will take home a whopping $4.3 million as their prize money. The prize money would rise to $4.6 million if the team remains unbeaten in the tournament. So if New Zealand manages to win the World Cup, the winner will be pocketing $4.6 million.
A total prize money of $11.5 million will be available, which is more than 20 per cent over the World Cup 2011 that took place in India, South Africa and Bangladesh. The 2011 edition won by India had a prizemoney of $9.2 million.
The team which loses the finals on March at Melbourne will pocket $2 million while the two losing semi-finalists will each get $692,000. The four losing quarter-finalists will receive $346,000 each while the winners of each group match will get $52,000. All six teams eliminated from the first stage will get $40,000 apiece.
