Indian opener Murali Vijay has been ruled out of the second Test match between India and Australia due to a shoulder injury which he suffered during the first Test match at Pune. Vijay, in the last game, injured his shoulder when he dived to reach out for the ball whilst fielding.
The news of Vijay being injured was announced by skipper Virat Kohli at the toss. Abhinav Mukund made his way back in the squad after a hiatus of six years. This was not the only change as Karun Nair, the triple centurion of the Chennai Test also made his way back in the squad in place of all-rounder Jayant Yadav. These were the two changes made by skipper Kohli in the team.
However, Mukund did not have a great outing as he failed to replicate his form of domestic cricket and was trapped in front of the stumps by Mitchell Starc on a score of 0.
Indian team at the moment was one down with a score of 20 at the end of 10 overs.
