India vs Australia 2017: Focus On Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami As Selectors Set To Name Squad For Remaining Tests

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to name the Test squad for the last two games against Australia on March 8 in Mumbai. All eyes will be on Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami, as both could be back in frame after a long injury lay-off.
Both players have missed international cricket since last year (particularly towards the last quarter). Rohit, who suffered a thigh injury during the New Zealand ODIs, has proved his fitness in ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy after featuring in two games. Though, he could not strike form as the limited-overs opener could muster 20 runs in two innings.
On the other hand, Shami has played just one game but still, there might be a case of bringing him back.
Wriddhiman Saha and Abhinav Mukund will also highlight selection meet as the wicket-keeper batsman hasn’t done well in the Australia series so far whereas, Mukund failed to impress in the Bengaluru Test. There might be a case of selectors opting for Parthiv Patel, who has done well in Vijay Hazare Trophy so far.
Currently, Virat Kohli-led India is 1-0 behind in the four-match series by virtue of losing the first Test in Pune. The final two Tests will be played in Ranchi and Dharamsala.
