India vs Australia: Predicted Squad For ODI and T20I Series

India are set to host Australia later this month when they play five-match ODI series and three-match T20I series. The season will be prestigious one and will see the likes of New Zealand and Sri Lanka also touring India.

The games against Australia could give us a clear idea of the core players that will make it to the 2019 World Cup. Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli will then look around for the other options as they look to win the mega event in England which is just 18 months away.

Here we look at the possible 15 men who will make it to the squad that will play against Australia.

1. Rohit Sharma

One of the best players in Indian limited overs’ format, Rohit Sharma’s selection is a must against Australia. He is in extraordinary form this year.

2. Shikhar Dhawan

Ever since IPL, Dhawan is in prime form and one of the key players in the Indian team. His impressive performances in Champions Trophy and Sri Lanka makes him a vital cog in ODI set up.

3. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli will lead the team against Australia and will look to continue his impressive run against Kangaroos.

4. Manish Pandey

Pandey has played well in both the innings he was asked to bat against Sri Lanka. He is expected to once again make to the Indian squad against Australia.

5. MS Dhoni

Dhoni is by far the best wicket-keeper batsman in the country. After retiring from Test cricket, he is expected not to be rested for any of the upcoming ODI series.

6. Kedhar Jadhav

Jadhav was not at his best during Sri Lanka series despite scoring a match winning fifty in the final ODI. However, considering his importance to the team, he should play against Australia.

7. Hardik Pandya

One of the core players for 2019 World Cup, Pandya will get the nod to play against Australia. Virat Kohli is determined to give the best exposure to him going into the mega event.

8. Ravindra Jadeja

After being rested against Sri Lanka in ODIs, Jadeja could be back against Australia, but it remains to be seen, if he can get back to his best in the shorter formats.

9. Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav is one of the most promising talents in India. The youngster is expected to play a bigger role considering he is a chinaman bowler and his variations could make a difference in English conditions.

10. Axar Patel

Axar Patel is back in the Indian setup in Sri Lanka series, and the selectors could once again give him a nod ahead of others. His batting skills could be the factor in making him the favorite to play against Aussies.

11. Bhuvneswar Kumar

The leader of Indian bowling, Bhuvneswar Kumar has consistently improved over the past two years. He is one of the core players to make it to 2019 World Cup.

12. Umesh Yadav

Having been rested for Sri Lanka ODIs, Umesh Yadav would be in perfect shape for the Australia series. He did very well in Champions Trophy in English conditions and will remain a major player for India.

13. Jasprit Bumrah

The ODI specialist is hardly putting a foot wrong since making his debut for India in January 2016. He has impressed with 15 wickets against Sri Lanka in five ODIs.

14. Yuvraj Singh

With No.4, being one of the serious concerns for Team India, Yuvraj Singh could make his way back to Team India. He has done a commendable job for India at No.4 this year as he scored 372 runs in nine innings but was dropped on fitness basis.

15. Ajinkya Rahane

Having impressed for India in opening spot, Rahane can be considered to be squad player once again ahead of KL Rahul, who has failed miserably in the middle order.
