India vs Bangladesh 2017, One-Off Test, Day 4: Twitter Reacts As Bowlers Put India In Driver’s Seat
Feb 12, 2017 at 4:55 PM
India need seven more wickets on the final day to win the ongoing one-off Test against Bangladesh.
Chasing a mammoth 459, the visitors began poorly as senior batsman Tamim Iqbal returned to the hut after scoring only three. A 60-run stand between Soumya Sarkar and Mominul Haque steadied the ship for a while but the hosts put themselves in the driver’s seat after dismissing both batsmen in quick succession. Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah then survived the remaining overs to help their team finish on 103/3, still needing 356 runs to register an unlikely win.
Earlier, India declared their second innings on 159/4 after making light work of Bangladesh’s lower-order. Resuming the day on 322/6, Bangladesh lost a wicket in the very first over when Bhuvneshwar Kumar clean bowled Mehedi Hasan. Mushfiqur Rahim then did the majority of the scoring and scored 127 to help his team post 388 in reply to India’s 687/6. The hosts did not inflict a follow-on and scored some quick runs to set Bangladesh a huge target of 459.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the day’s play:

Not sure when I last saw a batsman who faced 35 deliveries & could have been dismissed on all 35 deliveries. #Taijul
