India vs England 2016/17, 2nd ODI, Cuttack: Eoin Morgan Opts To Bowl, India Bring In Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Jan 9, 2019 at 4:10 PM
On a sunny but a cooler day in Cuttack, England captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and took the right decision to bowl first on a wicket, that seems pretty much similar to that in Pune. Runs on the board with bowlers being smacked is expected to be the story and short boundaries are set to add to the woes of bowlers of both teams.
England skipper, who is expecting some bounce from the pitch, decided to drop Adil Rashid in favour of Liam Plunkett whereas India decided to bring in Bhuvneshwar Kumar in place of Umesh Yadav. Bhuvneshwar will be playing his first ODI after a period of one year as his last ODI came against Australia at Canberra last year.
The Indian team will have to post a really big total as the dew is expected play a role later in the day.
England playing XI: Alex Hales, Jason Roy, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Liam Plunkett, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Jake Ball.
India playing XI: Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli (c), Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni (wk), Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah.
